They say less can be more. Well that certainly was the case for Michelle + Corey! I had the honor of planning my best friend's wedding and it very much embodied who she and Corey are as a couple---low-key yet refined and simple yet classy. We put a chic spin on a "courthouse" wedding in the city. They have an affinity for the finer things so they invested in what was important to them for their intimate wedding that packed style + intentional details. The numerals and date 11.11.23 is very special for the couple: it was their exact first date, day their daughter was born (1.23), and now their wedding date.
The couple opted for no bridal party. Are you surprised? Ha! Again, an easy day was the goal! The first look was the sweetest including their adorable flower girl daughter and beautiful mothers. SHE just loves the mommy + me matching bows on their dresses. Kristi was the perfect photographer to capture the styling + tell the story of their day.
Doing a first look allowed them time to take all of their portraits in the city + in the Frick Building before the ceremony started so that they can truly enjoy celebrating with their guests immediately following the ceremony.
All black formal attire was requested and set the tone for the evening. We are huge fans of dress codes. It includes your guests in the overall aesthetics of your day and adds an effortless vibe in the room when people look and feel good. The ceremony was short + sweet on the grand staircase of the historic Frick Building. Guests watched the couple share their vows and commit their lives to each other from the balcony.
Post-ceremony, guests walked across the street to the restaurant to enjoy cocktails + dinner. Restaurants as a venue is a trend for 2024 and we couldn't agree more! It's a unique + fresh wedding venue idea and if you find one that compliments your wedding vibe, go for it!
Del Frisco's was awesome to work with and allowed us to design + transform their private space into a monochromatic + romantic dining room. The meal was perfection, the cocktails + champagne flowed, and the room was filled with immense love + happiness for Michelle + Corey as they started their new chapter as husband + wife.
